Jennifer Eberhardt’s Work on AI and Policing Featured in Mercury News and Vital City

Co-Director Jennifer Eberhardt and Faculty Affiliate Rob Voigt share their expertise on using AI to analyze millions of hours of police body camera footage, as well as their data-driven learnings, with news outlets. 

• The Mercury News spoke with Eberhardt and Voigt about their research using AI to analyze police interactions at scale: Eberhardt and Voigt discuss how they used AI to analyze nearly 1,800 NYPD body camera videos to assess officer compliance with consent requirements during street stops and how they are now applying this model to two Bay Area police departments to understand and improve policing practices across the country.
