Stanford Policy Lab Partners With SPARQ

December 20, 2013

The Stanford Law and Policy Lab is joining forces with SPARQ on our Be the Donor project, whose purpose is to increase the number and diversity of blood marrow donors. Blood marrow from anonymous donors can mean the difference between life and death for people suffering from blood cancers. And so the Policy Lab and SPARQ are working with Delete Blood Cancer (DBC), the world's largest stem cell donor center, to create and test at least one social psychological intervention that will increase the diversity of people registering to become blood donors or improve the conversion of registrants who "match" patients from mere matches to actual donors. The Policy Lab will vet this intervention for its legal and ethical soundness.
