Keeping Nextdoor Neighborly

Nextdoor is a private social network whose mission is to provide a trusted platform where neighbors work together to build stronger, safer, happier communities, all over the world.

Every day, users post hundreds of thousands of messages to Nextdoor's 200k+ neighborhoods. These messages cover a range of topics including lost pets, crime, local service provider recommendations, items for sale, community event promotion, and discussion of local issues. The vast majority of interactions between neighbors are constructive, but certain topics tend to turn tense.

SPARQ Faculty Affiliates joined a team from Nextdoor for a Research Clinic to discuss strategies for keeping conversations on the platform neighborly.
